Projects
Community Air Quality Monitoring
Sensors, Community
Air quality has long been a major concern on the greater west side of Savannah, affecting residents' health and well-being. Harambee House and CEAR Hub are partnering on a community-led initiative to research, monitor and improve air pollution in Savannah.
Farming with Big Data
Education, Sensors
We've partnered with teachers at Effingham College and Career Academy to install environmental sensors that collect real-time data at Honey Ridge Agricenter, a working farm owned and operated by the Effingham County School District, to expose students to real-world applications of their studies in computer science and scientific research.
NASA Sea Level Rise Education, Awareness, and Literacy (SEAL)
Education
The NASA Sea Level Education, Awareness, and Literacy (SEAL) project is a partnership to improve understanding of sea level rise within coastal communities across the United States, particularly those that are historically underserved and vulnerable to flooding impacts.
Smart Sea Level Sensors
Sensors
We've deployed a network of low-cost, internet-enabled water level sensors on docks and bridges throughout coastal Georgia to monitor water levels in real-time and aid in emergency response during flood events. The sensors also provide a unique and important dataset to aid scientists, engineers, and regional planners in quantifying the short- and long-term risks associated with continued sea level rise.
