Closing the Gap: How Smart Sensors Are Changing Coastal Flood Monitoring in Georgia

Tybee Island’s newest garden is designed to protect the coast
Photo credits: Brent Levy, City of Tybee Island In partnership with the City of Tybee Island, UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, CEAR Hub installed three rain gardens on the north end of Tybee Island. Part of Tybee Island’s Natural Infrastructure Plan, the rain gardens will help absorb stormwater, reduce flooding, and improve water quality. Georgia’s First Superfund Research Center to Study Hazardous Industrial Pollution, Remediation

CEAR Hub awarded grant from NOAA Sea Grant College Program
CEAR Hub has received a grant from UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant to conduct community‑led flood resilience research to aid planning in Pin Point, Georgia.
