CEAR Hub has received a grant from UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant to conduct community‑led flood resilience research to aid planning in Pin Point, Georgia. The project will be led by Alex Robel, associate professor in the Georgia Tech School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and will be conducted in collaboration with the Pin Point Betterment Association (PPBA). Since 2023, the CEAR Hub has supported PPBA in resilience planning. The community has implemented projects that aim to reduce electrical outages during storms, calm traffic, grow fresh produce, reduce flooding, and educate youth on the cultural heritage of the Gullah Geechee community.
