Medical Toxicology Webinar: Supporting Local Residents Exposed to PCBS

For healthcare providers to learn the health risks associated with exposures to PCBs to support local residents.

Time & Location

Mar 14, 2024, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

About the event

Emory University and Brunswick-based partners tested the blood of 100 Glynn County residents to determine if local exposures to contaminants are higher than the general US population. The results found that local residents had higher than average levels of highly chlorinated PCBs, which are known contaminants in Brunswick’s rivers, fish, and marshes. A substantial number of participants have PCB levels above the US 95th percentile. Participants and other residents may seek advice from their healthcare providers about this chemical exposure.
